The Perspective of NHL Teams in 2024

The 23-24 NHL season is about to end, with teams tearing out in the playoffs for the Stanley Cup. The New York Rangers won the President’s Trophy and secured a place in the playoffs. This season has had its fair share of ups and downs with a few surprises.

However, playoffs are a different ballgame, and it is where experienced teams and players bring their A-game. The games are more competitive, which brings more excitement for the fans. Here is a glimpse of what different teams look like at the season’s business end.

What the Bettors Say

If you are a betting person, the playoffs are an impressive set of games where you can make money from your bets. However, some games can be too tight, making it hard to make correct predictions. Using tips from the best NHL analysts from The Sports Prophets can help you make better bets.

Eastern Conference Frontrunners

The Florida Panthers look to make things right after their disappointing performance in last season’s playoffs. With Barkov, Huberdeau, and Ekblad, the Panthers made their intentions known after blowing the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first round of the playoffs.

Also, you can’t forget about one of the best wingers in the league, Matthew Tkachuk, who has made the Florida Panthers one of the best offensive teams this season. They face the former President’s Trophy winners, the Boston Bruins, in the second round of the playoffs. However, most pundits aren’t confident that their offense will be enough to take them to the finals.

Another top contender for this season’s Stanley Cup is the current President’s Trophy winner, the New York Rangers. Coming off of one of their best seasons, they rank top in points scored during the regular season. They also had the best record this season, amassing a record of 55 wins and only four losses.

Despite changing coaches entering this season and long-term injuries to two of their players, the Rangers have been one of the best-performing teams this season. They are into the second round of the playoffs, having swept the Washington Capitals 4-0 in the first round. However, they face their arch-nemesis, the Carolina Hurricanes, in round two.

Western Conference Top Picks

The Colorado Avalanche made light work of Winnipeg in the first playoff games and are set to face the Central Division champions the Dallas Stars in the second round. This is another game where the stakes will be high. Both teams boast of quality offenses, capable of unlocking any defense.

Another tight clash for the Western Conference title pits the Vancouver Canucks against the Edmonton Oilers. Both teams performed well during the regular season, coming first and second respectively, in the Pacific Division. Edmonton saw off the Los Angeles Kings in the first round, with Canucks beating Nashville 4-2 in another entertaining encounter that nearly went to game seven.

Wrapping Up

We are close to the business end of the 23-24 NHL season, and it has been captivating, with new scoring records. Most bettors and analysts have their money on the Carolina Hurricanes winning this year’s Stanley Cup.
